Australian defender Lucas Neill’s transfer from Blackburn Rovers to English powerhouse Liverpool appears imminent, according to a report on The Herald Sun.
With Blackburn Rovers reportedly set to sign a replacement full back in Ukraine international Andriy Nesmachnyi, the indications are clear that Neill will end months of speculation to seek his way out of Ewood Park in the January transfer window.
Britain's The Guardian newspaper online edition had earlier reported Nesmachnyi, who plays for Dynamo Kiev, was in England for a medical with Rovers and that his signing would allow Neill to complete the move to Anfield.
Neill's transfer fee will be in the region of $4 million, added the report.
Neill has also backed his national team to excel at their maiden Asian Cup tournament in July in Thailand.
