Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is being linked with Lille midfielder Mathieu Bodmer.
Benitez wants to land a new ball-winning midfielder in January and has also been scouting Lazio's Gaby Mudingayi in recent weeks.
The News of the World says Benitez is ready to bid for Frenchman Bodmer, though Lille will be reluctant to cash in with a looming Champions League tie against Manchester United to look forward to.
